SUMMER HOLIDAY WORKSHOP: ‘The Magic Pencil’

A four-day Artspip extravaganza will be running at Worthing Museum & Art Gallery from Tues 4th - Fri 7th August 2015 from 10.30 - 12.30 daily. Children aged 5 - 8 can participate in arts & crafts, drama games and story-writing as we work together to create our own new tale ‘The Magic Pencil’.

An E-book containing your children’s ideas and artwork will be available as a FREE download at the end of their special creative week.

This event has now closed - please find The Magic Pencil Storybook here.

Term time workshops

Unfortunately, after school workshops at Thomas A Becket First School have now ended. Please check back for updates in the future.

What’s the BIG IDEA?

Artspip workshops encourage children to view themselves as explorers, inventors and creators. Each term we explore a new theme  using a combination of visual and dramatic arts. Every week is different introducing children to history, art and culture in a fun, accessible way. Children make their own creation to take home using a wide range of media and accessible drama games that encourage children to build confidence in their unique artistic talent and creative independence. When we put on our ‘imagination goggles’ a homemade blanket or a wooden spoon have endless possibilities, demonstrating how the everyday becomes magical!

NOTE: Class sizes are kept small for a  high quality experience!

National Curriculum Key Stage One: Artspip workshops aim to support children in curriculum areas of Art & Design and PSHE by developing knowledge & skill using artistic, craft-based and dramatic performance processes, increasing understanding of a range of cultural & artistic experiences, and encouraging both individual & group development of ideas whilst evaluating progress through critical reflection.

What do I NEED TO KNOW?

I have £5 million Public Liability Insurance and an Enhanced CRB check.
