ARTS

I have experience in both visual and performing arts and a degree in Graphic Design. I currently work on my own art (collaborating with my sons) using textiles, photography, painting and creative writing. I am the author of the short children’s story “The Incredible Finvention” published in 2012 by Access Art (http://www.accessart.org.uk)

My sons give me daily lessons in the art of exploration, involving me in wild uninhibited role play and creative innovation with any media!

YOUTH & COMMUNITY WORK

As an qualified and experienced youth and community worker,  I have worked with ages 2 - 26 within local authority Youth Development Services, social enterprises, theatres, charities and multi-agency projects. My youth work has focused on management and delivery of participation work, young parents projects, detached and mobile provision and youth arts projects.

LEARNING & TEACHING

For six years I was Senior Lecturer at the University of Chichester, training  adults to become youth and community workers at Diploma & Degree level . My specialist areas of teaching included reflective practice, integrating theory and practice and youth arts. I am also currently a Learning Support Assistant at a local Worthing school.
